The mental health user movement has made major strides forward in recent years. With user involvement now established at the centre of health policy, user groups have taken a leading role locally and nationally in representing their members’ concerns in dealing with services.
This publication examines the shape of the user movement today and looks to the challenges and opportunities ahead. It calls for extra support for user groups and for the development of a more coherent voice for mental health service users on the national stage.
